The Organizing Committee of the 13th International Congress of Cretan Studies (Agios Nikolaos, 5-9 October 2022) thanks participants who submitted their papers for publication by the deadline of September 30, 2023. Papers submitted by the deadline and approved by the Organizing Committee will be gradually uploaded, in order of submission, to the Proceedings website, which will be online in early 2024. The Organizing Committee also announces the extension of the submission deadline for papers to December 31, 2023. Authors are invited to submit their papers to the 13ICCS email address (13iccs@ekim.gr). There will be no further extension of the deadline, and no other announcement on the subject. We would like to remind you that papers must be up to 5,000 words, with an English abstract of 150-300 words, accompanied by up to 20 illustrations and formatted according to the attached instructions (second page of the pdf). The Organizing Committee retains the right to subject the papers received to anonymous peer review. The Society of Cretan Historical Studies hopes that, with your kind cooperation, the online publication of the Proceedings will be completed in 2024.

The work of the Congress will be completed with the publication of its Proceedings, which will be undertaken by the organizing body, the Society of Cretan Historical Studies (SCHS). The Proceedings will be published in electronic form and posted on a website, with a unique url address, designed, managed and maintained by the SCHS. Material on the site will be divided into thematic and chronological categories, arranged in sections following the Congress sessions. The publication will have an ISBN, a search engine with indexing via keywords, and open access to data. Authors should submit their Congress final papers using the 13th ICSS email address (13iccs@ekim.gr) no later than September 30, 2023. No extensions will be granted for submissions; please also note that there will be no further notice regarding submission dates. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to submit final papers for anonymous academic review. The editors will inform authors regarding the acceptance of their final papers for publication, shortly after submission. The papers will be published gradually by submission order, within 2023 if submitted by June 30 that year. The pdf files of each paper to be posted on the website will cite the publication rights and ISBN and may be freely used and disseminated by their authors. The texts will be page numbered separately, per paper. According to the decision taken during the closing session of the 12th International Congress of Cretan Studies (25 September 2016), the organization of the 13th International Congress of Cretan Studies was entrusted to the Society of Cretan Historical Studies. The SCHS appointed the Congress Organizing Committee and sent out the First Circular of the Congress in July 2019, inviting an expression of interest from all those wishing to participate. The Congress was originally scheduled to take place in Agios Nikolaos in October 2021. Due to the global health situation, in December 2020 the Organizing Committee announced the postponement of the 13th ICCS by one year, to October 2022.
Due to the current global health situation, the Organizing Committee of the 13th International Congress of Cretan Studies has decided to postpone the Congress for one year, to October 2022. The submission deadline for abstracts from those wishing to participate is accordingly moved to 31 December 2021.
